Crash Talk is the fifth studio album by rapper Schoolboy Q. The Hip Hop/Rap album was released on April 26, 2019. The album features artist like Travis Scott, 6LACK, Ty Dolla $ign, YG, 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, and Lil Baby. It contains a list of 14 songs. Initially, Schoolboy Q had announced that the album was going to be released in November 2018, but in September he announced that the album was going to be delayed once more because he was dealing with grief and depression after the death of his close friend and rapper, Mac Miller.

I was waiting for Q’s album for a long time, before the release of this album, the last album that he had released was Blank Face LP in 2016. After a long awaited hiatus, he finally released the album this year and I immediately went an heard it. I swear to god when I say this, Crash Talk is one of the best albums I’ve heard in my life. I’m not saying its the best one ever, but I like every single song. In my opinion, none of them are bad and the worst ones are good. Crash Talk delivers old school beats along with the famous cadence, flow and lyricism that Q is known for. Al so, in terms of the subject matter, Q keeps me listening to the entirety of each song because he talked about his upbringing and how he’s not a deadbeat dad, along with other personal subjects. Q proved to me that he is still one of the most skilled rappers in the game.

My favorite songs were: “Dangerous”, “Water”, “CHopstix”, “Drunk”, “Black Folk”, “5200”, “Attention”, “Tales”, and “Numb Numb Juice”. These songs are great and feature exactly what many people like about Schoolboy Q. His versatility in terms of how he flows in different types of beats, his unbelievable cadence and flow, his descriptive lyricism, all make up what is the artist known as Schoolboy Q. This album is ranked as the top album of the year in my list so far. He set the bar so high that I’m excited to see if anyone can match it, let alone overcome it. I’d be shocked if he didn’t receive critical acclaim for this amazing piece of art, but I doubt that would happen judging by how much units he sold and how the public has reacted to the album’s greatness.
